On Monday, December 1st, EuroCham launched the 7th edition of its Whitebook, for the year 2015.
The Chairwoman of EuroCham Nicola Connolly held a welcome note at the beginning of the event. Attending on behalf of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) was its President Dr. Vu Tien Loc who held the opening speech. Five EuroCham Sector Committees also held presentations on the day, the Food Agri and Aqua Sector Committee, the Intellectual Property Rights Sector Committee, the Pharma Group, the Tax and Transfer Pricing Sector Committee and the Wine and Spirits Sector Committee.
Attending the conference on behalf of the European Delegation to Vietnam was Ambassador Franz Jessen, who also made remarks and answered questions.
Press coverage of the event was substantial and the ceremony was mentioned several times on six TV channels on Monday and Tuesday. Printed media also took great notice of the event with a large number of journalists attending the press conference.
The launch of the Whitebook is the end result of work conducted over the course of the year by EuroCham and its members, to identify investment and trade issues and to give recommendations in response to this.
The purpose of the publication is to summarize for the Vietnamese Government key issues affecting the business climate for European companies in Vietnam. The content of the Whitebook spans a number of major industries that EuroCham’s 850 members operate in, not limited to but including the sectors of: agricultural business and food safety, banking and finance, fast moving consumer goods, information technology as well as tourism and hospitality.
