On 13 January 2025, EuroCham Vietnam’s, Executive Director Delphine Rousselet, Board Member Martin Koerner, Advocacy Manager Diep Truong, and Events & Administration Manager Nhung Nguyen attended the New Year gathering hosted by the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
The event welcomed Consuls General, heads of international organisations, and representatives from economic and cultural offices and business associations based in the southern metropolis.
Ho Chi Minh City will strengthen cooperation in external relations
During the gathering, Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai expressed his gratitude to the international community for their invaluable contributions, including consular agencies, NGOs, business associations, and international friends. He reiterated HCMC’s commitment to fostering effective and practical cooperation in external relations, strengthening the city’s role as a hub for global collaboration.
The international community’s commitment
Representing the international community, German Consul General and head of the consular corps Josefine Wallat congratulated Ho Chi Minh City on its economic achievements in 2024, especially on the operation of Metro line 1.
Mrs. Wallat regards Ho Chi Minh City’s potential for cooperation in economic development highly. She expressed willingness to continue to advance bilateral relationship with Vietnam, as well as with Ho Chi Minh City and neighbouring provinces.
