On 28 May, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) hosted its Asia Pacific (APAC) Dialogue 2024, bringing together Vietnamese officials, regional leaders, and global business executives to discuss key economic and financial issues.
Claudia Anselmi, Vice-Chair of EuroCham, represented our organisation and spoke at a panel on “Policy innovation for a green and digital Asia Pacific.” During her remarks, she introduced our organisation and our 20 Sector Committees, highlighting our crucial role in policy advocacy and government dialogue. She also discussed the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), emphasising how technology can facilitate Vietnam’s and the broader region’s green transition and sustainable development.
The panel explored policy innovations and collaborations that can drive a greener, more digital, and resilient future for the region. Discussions centred on leveraging technology to bridge the digital divide, improve digital literacy, and ensure equitable access, while also addressing the need for balanced innovation and regulation, particularly in artificial intelligence. Environmental stewardship was also a key focus, with panellists discussing green policies, regulations, and incentives to promote a circular economy and ensure a “just transition” that fosters fair and inclusive growth for all.
The event welcomed high-level guests, including Deputy Minister of Finance Vo Thanh Hung, as well as officials from the Ministry of Planning and Investment; and the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. ACCA Chief Executive Helen Brand and British Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew also attended.
