[Recap Event] EuroCham Women in Business spotlights women in STEM at an insightful Business Luncheon

In celebration of the upcoming Vietnamese Women’s Day, EuroCham and its Women in Business Sector Committee organized an insightful Business Luncheon on 18 October, spotlighting the timely issue of “Ensuring Women’s Participation in Vietnam’s Transformation to a Digital Economy.”

Attended by 60 esteemed guests, the event aimed to shine a spotlight on a persistent global issue – the underrepresentation of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. And Vietnam, like many countries, faces this challenge head-on. With women comprising only a fraction of Vietnam’s STEM workforce, the luncheon explored solutions to balance the gender scales.

In this age of Industry 4.0, it is crucial that women access opportunities in tech and innovation. The luncheon proposed essential policy changes in education and training to achieve this. We discussed how tech hiring could become more inclusive, the challenges women face entering STEM careers, and examples of women successfully thriving in these fields. The real-world examples of women who have made significant strides in the tech and innovation sectors provided inspiration and guidance. These insights shed light on actions needed to empower women in Vietnam’s digital transformation.
