Managing Change in Asia

Last Monday, Kuehne Logistics University (KLU) Asia organised a panel discussion, co-hosted with EuroCham Vietnam and our Transport & Logistics Sector Committee (TLSC). Among the speakers were many EuroCham members, including, Sebastian Schlitter, Chair of EuroCham’s Human Resources & Training Sector Committee and Laurence Cheung, member of EuroCham’s TLSC.

The session explored how Asia’s transition economies are reshaping global supply chains, leadership models, and business transformation strategies. Key themes included:

  • The critical role of middle management and internal talent development in supporting long-term business growth
  • The challenges European leaders face when operating across different working cultures, and the need for adaptive leadership approaches in Asia
  • How European companies navigate ESG expectations between global headquarters requirements and local market realities in Vietnam
  • The growing impact of geopolitics, trade tensions, and regionalisation on logistics, investment, and supply chain strategies
  • The influence of AI and digital transformation on younger generations, future skills, and workforce expectations

We extend our thanks to KLU’s Executive MBA participants, students from the Master in Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management programme at KLU Asia. Special thanks to all industry guests for their active engagement throughout the session:.

  • Dr. Duong Nhu Dang, Dean of School of Industrial Management, HCMC University of Technology
  • Dr. Arne Heinold, Assistant Professor for Transportation, Kuehne Logistics University
  • Mr.  Maximillian Rummert – Managing Director of Bayer Vietnam and Board Member of the German Business Association
  • Mr. Christian Boos – Global VP and Head of Sustainability Innovation at SAP
