April 24: Mr. Thomas McClelland, Chairman of EuroCham’s Tax & Transfer Pricing Sector Committee, represented EuroCham at an international seminar on Global Minimum Tax hosted by the National Assembly Committee on Finance and Budget in collaboration with The World Bank.
During the seminar, Mr. McClelland discussed Vietnam’s adoption of the Global Minimum Tax (GMT), including the implementation of the Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax regime and the introduction of new tax incentive policies to support foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam. He also shared valuable suggestions on tax incentive reforms based on European best practices.
Key attendees at the seminar included National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, World Bank Country Director in Vietnam Carolyn Turk, Deputy General Director of the General Department of Taxation, Deputy Head of the Party Central Economic Commission Nguyen Duc Hien, and several industry experts.
