Since 1998, EuroCham Vietnam has been the unified voice of European businesses in Vietnam. With 1,400+ members employing 150,000+ workers, we are one of the largest foreign business associations in Vietnam.

South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk

The South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk supports small and medium sized enterprises from the European Union (EU) and the other countries of the Single Market Programme (SMP)* to both protect and enforce their Intellectual Property (IP) rights in or relating to South-East Asian countries, through the provision of free information and services. EuroCham Vietnam is implementing partner of the SEA IP SME Helpdesk project.

WHO WE ARE

Our Structure

You are automatically a member of EuroCham if you join one of the nine affiliated European national business associations (BAs).

We are governed by 17 Board Members, who are elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our Board meets monthly to set our policies and objectives. We implement the Board’s directions through our team in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

In total, we have 20 Sector Committees that carry out advocacy work and provide sector-specific expertise.

2023

Green Economy Forum 2023

Building on the success of the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE), the Green Economy Forum (GEF) 2023 further elevated the dialogue. With attendees including the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, the European Commission Executive Vice President, Valdis Dombrovskis, and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, the forum positioned Vietnam’s sustainability discourse ahead of COP28.


Vietnam Business Forum

Alongside Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, EuroCham Chairman Gabor Fluit emphasized the European business community’s  commitment to supporting economic and green growth of Vietnam.

2022

Green Economy Forum and Exhibition 2022

From November 28 to 30, 2022, EuroCham Vietnam hosted GEFE 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City. The event attracted over 6,000 visitors and deepened EU-Vietnam business ties, uniting leaders such as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and EU Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius.

2021

Breathe Again Vietnam

EuroCham launched the “Breathe Again” campaign to support Vietnam during the COVID-19 outbreak. All funds donated to the “Breathe Again” campaign were used to purchase medical devices and equipment for hospitals in Vietnam’s hardest-hit areas. 


Vietnam Business Forum

Alongside Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany was part of Vietnam’s delegation to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

2019

EVFTA

We were a key player in bilateral negotiations for the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and took part in its signing ceremony.

2018

PM's Certificate of Merit

In celebration of 30 years of FDI in Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented EuroCham with a Certificate of Merit for our role in promoting FDI, development and international integration.

Vietnam Business Forum

We played a leading role during the transition of the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) to the management of business associations and chambers of commerce.

The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC)

The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) is the voice of European businesses within ASEAN, and advocates for policies that promote trade and investment between Europe and ASEAN.

The European Business Organization Worldwide Network (EBOWWN)

The EBOWWN provides advocacy, networking, and business intelligence services to European businesses outside the EU. Through this organization, European business associations and chambers collaborate with EU delegations worldwide to support European companies. There are now companies in its network from 45 key markets on every continent except Antarctica.

EU projects implemented by EuroCham

The South-East Asia IP SME Helpdesk, an initiative of the European Commission, supports small and medium sized enterprises in the European Union (EU) and the other countries of the Single Market Programme (SMP) to both protect and enforce their Intellectual Property (IP) rights in or relating to South-East Asian countries, through the provision of free information and services. EuroCham Vietnam is implementing partner of the SEA IP SME Helpdesk project.

Technical Assistance for the ARISE+ Programme in Vietnam is a project funded by the European Union (EU) that contributes to the integration of Vietnam’s economy into the global production chain through targeted support both the public and private sectors. The project is supporting the Vietnamese Government to reap the benefits of new bilateral and regional trade commitments, with a focus on the implementation of the EVFTA. EuroCham Vietnam is consortium member of the project.

Mr. Dominik Meichle

Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam

Dominik Meichle is the Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam, having ascended to this role in 2024 from his previous position as Vice-Chair. He joined EuroCham Vietnam’s Board of Directors in 2022. As Chairman, Mr. Meichle has been instrumental in guiding the organisation’s strategic initiatives, further solidifying its position as a key facilitator in fostering robust trade and investment links between Europe and Vietnam.

In July 2022, at just 36 years old, Mr. Meichle was appointed Managing Director of Bosch Vietnam, becoming the youngest person to hold this position since the company’s establishment. Before leading Bosch Vietnam, he spent seven years in Japan as part of the executive management team for Bosch’s Two-Wheeler & Powersports division, with global responsibilities covering marketing, business strategy, and product management. In total, his experience at Bosch spans more than 11 years.

Mr. Meichle holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Furtwangen University in Germany. Born on April 4, 1986, in Friedrichshafen, Germany, he is married and the proud father of three children.

Mr. Jean-Jacques Bouflet

EuroCham - Vice-Chairman in charge of Advocacy

Mr. Bouflet is a seasoned trade policy and legal expert with over 37 years’ experience at the European Commission. He has held a variety of senior positions in government, foreign service, and law in Brussels, Asia, and France. He has also represented the EU in numerous trade negotiations and dispute settlement proceedings.

At the Commission, Mr. Bouflet was involved in negotiations for the EU’s agreement with the World Trade Organization and served on the task force supporting Sweden, Finland, and Austria’s accession to the EU. Additionally, he represented the EU on numerous dispute settlement panels at the World Trade Organization. As Deputy Representative of the European Commission in France, he was responsible for promoting EU-France relations and coordinating the Commission’s activities in France.

Mr. Bouflet has also held senior positions with European Union delegations in Asia, first as Head of Trade Affairs in Thailand followed by Deputy Ambassador of the EU in Vietnam. In the latter position, he served as a lead negotiator for the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.

Mr. Bouflet currently serves as EuroCham’s Vice-Chairman in charge of advocacy since 2017 and sits on the board of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV). In these roles, he continues to promote trade and investment between Team Europe and Vietnam. Mr. Bouflet’s extensive experience and expertise in trade policy and law make him a valuable asset to the European business community in Vietnam.

With nearly 20 years of professional experience at one of the “Big 4” and Mazars, Minh has developed into one of the leading advisors in the Vietnamese market, with class leading skills particularly in International Taxation, Transfer Pricing, and International Trade. His projects include market entry services, multinational group transaction restructuring, M&A, tax compliance and advisory, transfer pricing review and documentation, tax audit assistance for clients, as well as customs review and compliance.

As Vice Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), Executive Committee Member of the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce (CEEC), and Board Member of the EU-Vietnam Business Council, Minh engages very deeply in supporting European companies doing business in Vietnam via various advocacy activities toward Vietnamese Government agencies, as well as promoting business cooperation between Vietnam and European countries.

Minh is also a member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council in Administrative Procedures Reform, and arbitrator at Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC).

Ingo is currently the Managing Director cum Country Division Head of the Pharmaceutical of Bayer Vietnam since 2022 while he was previously the Head of Strategy & Commercial Excellence Asia Pacific, responsible for the regional development strategy of Bayer AG.

Ingo is a seasoned Executive with over 20 years of management experience in Pharmaceuticals, Food Supplements, Animal Health and Crop Science in Asia, Latin America and Europe.

Fanny Haniquaut

Fanny Haniquaut is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with 21 years of experience in manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory affairs. She has held key positions at Sanofi in France, Singapore, and Vietnam, and currently serves as Head of Manufacturing & Supply for Sanofi Vietnam.

Tri-Mai Hoang

Managing Director - Airbus Vietnam, Laos & Cambodia

Tri-Mai is responsible for representing Airbus in Vietnam, leading the company’s business, operations, and industrial footprint. She implements the country strategy, as well as supports Airbus sales campaigns in Vietnam.

Tri-Mai joined Airbus in 2021 on the back of 17 years’ experience in Vietnam leading Rolls-Royce’s operations as Country Head for Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and the Philippines.

Stuart is a Board Member of EuroCham, Co-Chair of Green Growth Sector Committee, and a Board Member of Vietnam Business Forum (VBF)

Oscar is the Founder and CEO of Nextway Technology, with 14 years of experience in Vietnam, including senior tech leadership roles at companies like Navigos Group, Leroy Merlin, Central Retail and Deskimo (a YC ’21 startup based in Singapore). He is a leader passionate about people, culture, and continuous improvement, driving innovation and growth.

Thue Quist Thomasen, CEO of Decision Lab, boasts 20+ years of marketing, research, and consulting experience. He has utilised data-driven strategies for brand building and commercial development for companies across the finance, retail, F&B, e-commerce and education sectors. Thue is a renowned speaker for conferences, Vietnamese television and news outlets.

Alain Cany

Mr Alain Cany began his career at Credit Commercial de France, holding various executive positions in France before moving to Hong Kong in 1985. He became General Manager of CCF in Hong Kong in 1994. He then moved to HSBC as the Head of European Business Development at the regional headquarters in Hong Kong and the President and Chief Executive Officer for HSBC Vietnam for 4 years from 2003. He was the Group Country Chairman of Jardine Matheson Vietnam and Chief Representative and Senior Advisor of N.M Rothschild & Sons until August 2013. He has been a member of the Board of Siam City Cement Vietnam (Ex Holcim) since March 2017. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of Vinamilk since March 2018. He has been Co-Chairman of the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) 2012-2014, representing foreign businesses. He was Chairman of Eurocham Vietnam from 2005 – 2012 and 2021-2022. He has been Deputy Chairman of Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) since 30th March 2021. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister on 6 January 2011 and a Friendship Medal by the President of The Socialist Republic of Vietnam on 30 March 2011. He holds a BA in economic sciences from the University of Paris and was awarded Chevalier de la Legion d’ Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honor) by the President of the Republic of France in 2002 and Officer of the French National Merit Order. Mr Alain Cany is a French and Vietnamese dual national.
