BASF launches MasterEase® admixture to support rapid construction growth in northern Vietnam

New generation of concrete admixture that reduces viscosity of concrete by up to 30%

Facilitating easy pumping, placing, leveling, and finishing of concrete

Hanoi, Vietnam – June 20, 2017 – BASF today launched MasterEase®, an innovative admixture for low-viscosity concrete, to help customers in the northern region of Vietnam create durable, high-quality concrete structures faster and more easily.

This new generation of polymers improves the rheological properties of concrete and reduces the plastic viscosity of concrete by up to 30 percent. In addition, it reduces the time and effort for pumping and placement of concrete, making construction much easier and faster.

“Innovation is an important driver for our long-term growth. We collaborate with our customers to continuously work on new products and solutions as well as innovative technologies. With the launch of MasterEase, we are offering our most advanced and globally approved products in Vietnam to support our customers in overcoming construction challenges and to realize their projects,” said Lê Doãn Trình, Head of Construction Chemicals, BASF Vietnam.

Concrete producers and users will benefit in many ways from the new technology, which is flexible and can be adapted to challenging situations such as temperature and material variations. It is particularly suitable for concrete mixes which are designed and optimized for advanced engineering properties and sustainability. High-strength concrete with low water/cement ratios, as well as mixes with higher levels of supplementary cementitious materials reduce the CO2 footprint. MasterEase makes it easier to produce and place these concrete mixes and this helps engineers and developers to improve sustainability ratings of their projects.

This admixture solution has been proven successful in a variety of landmark projects in Vietnam since its debut in Ho Chi Minh City a year ago. MasterEase is currently being applied, for example, in Coco Bay Resort in Danang and Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway.

Mr. Tanachart Ralsipirong, Managing Director, BASF Vietnam, said: “As one of the fastest growing countries in Asia Pacific, Vietnam is an important market for BASF. As the country develops and becomes increasingly more urbanized, better infrastructure and quality, affordable housing are crucial. As a long-term partner with Vietnam, BASF can help address these issues with our solutions and technologies. The launch of MasterEase shows how we support the rapid growth of Vietnam’s construction industry.”

During the launch, a demonstration of the advantages of MasterEase was arranged for more than 50 invited guests to experience the quality of the new technology up-close.
