On 24 April, EuroCham Vietnam welcomed a senior delegation from the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan (ECCT) for a full day of high-level meetings in Hanoi. The visit began with an in-depth session at EuroCham’s office and continued with a joint exchange at the EU Delegation to Vietnam.
The EuroCham Vietnam side was represented by Vice-Chairs Erick Contreras and Jean-Jacques Bouflet, and Board Member Rita Mokbel, supported by EuroCham Vietnam’s Hanoi and HCMC teams, including heads of advocacy, communications, and membership. Led by ECCT CEO Freddie Höglund and Vice-Chairman John Winter, the ECCT delegation included representatives from H2U Corporation, STMicroelectronics, Robert Walters, and Taipei Language Institute.
The discussion covered comparative advocacy frameworks, member services, and the mechanics of sector committee engagement. ECCT also presented its Family-Friendly Alliance — a platform addressing demographic shifts through corporate best practices in HR and inclusion. While Vietnam’s demographic dynamics differ, the initiative sparked interest for potential regional adaptation.
Later that day, the delegation was received at the EU Delegation in Hanoi. Exchanges focused on strategic trade and investment trends, with particular attention to the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. The agreement remains a key focus of the EU’s roadmap in Vietnam, with implementation efforts continuing across regulatory and market access dimensions.
The visit allowed both chambers to better understand each other’s structures and priorities and reaffirmed the importance of a coordinated European business voice across the Indo-Pacific.
