EuroCham Chairman met with Chairman of Central Party Economic Committee

During the meeting that took place on Wednesday, 19 Apr, Mr. Nguyen Van Binh – Chairman of Central Party Economic Committee highly appreciated EuroCham's activities in Vietnam in recent years and its active contribution to improve Vietnam business environment as well as the competitiveness of Vietnam economy. 

Mr. Binh congratulated Jens Ruebbert on his election as Chairman of EuroCham for the 2017/18 term and expressed his confidence that the New Chairman would lead EuroCham to continue the effective cooperation with Vietnam's agencies and organisations in the matters of mutual interest.

Mr. Binh also informed Mr. Ruebbert of the main focuses of Vietnamese Government following Resolution of XII Party Congress; emphasizing the important priorities which include further improve the reform process in order to perfect Vietnam’s economic institutions, create a fair business environment and competitiveness, improve the competitiveness of the economy; at the same time affirmed that Vietnam always welcome European investors.

Mr. Ruebbert expressed his gratitude to Mr. Binh for receiving the EuroCham delegation. In his view, in the current context, the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVFTA) will play an important role in Viet Nam's global trade integration, making Vietnam a promising business and investment destination in the ASEAN region for European businesses. Mr. Ruebbert also introduced the EuroCham Whitebook 2017, featuring opportunities and challenges of EVFTA, compiling recommendations to improve the efficiency of the business environment in Vietnam.

Mr. Ruebbert thanked Mr. Nguyen Van Binh for taking the time to receive the EuroCham delegation. In his view, in the current context, the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVFTA) will play an important role in Viet Nam's global trade integration, helping Viet Nam. Nam has become a promising business and investment destination in the ASEAN region for European businesses. Mr. Ruebbert also introduced the EuroCham 2017 White Paper, an analysis of the opportunities and challenges of EVFTA, and several recommendations to improve the efficiency of the business investment environment in Vietnam.

Comrade Nguyen Van Binh expressed his belief that EuroCham will continue to have cooperative activities in Vietnam in the coming time as well as active contribution to the EU-Vietnam relations
