On 24 April in Hanoi, EuroCham joined the Ministry of Finance’s consultation workshop on the draft Circular guiding the implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Vietnam. The workshop was chaired by Mr. Đặng Quyết Tiến, Director General of the Department of Accounting and Auditing Supervision, with the participation of key government departments, leading auditing firms, and private sector representatives.
Representing EuroCham were Ms. Van Nguyen, Head of Hanoi Office, Mrs. Nguyễn Chu Hoài Anh (Legal Sector Committee), and Mr. Nguyễn Khương Duy (Taxation and Transfer Pricing Sector Committee).
EuroCham expressed strong support for the Ministry’s inclusive and consultative approach, which creates space for open dialogue around IFRS implementation. Many European companies in Vietnam are eager to adopt these international standards but still face procedural and technical hurdles.
EuroCham highlighted that IFRS adoption will not only enhance financial transparency but also reduce compliance costs, minimise operational risks, and create a more stable, investor-friendly environment – helping attract a new wave of FDI. The Ministry welcomed the feedback, which will inform the finalisation of the Circular to ensure alignment with international standards and business realities.
