EuroCham engages in a productive dialogue with the Administrative Procedures Control Agency and Reform (ACAPR)

On 13 September, EuroCham was invited to participate in a crucial working session organized by the Administrative Procedures Control Agency and Reform (ACAPR). Chaired by Mr. Ngo Hai Phan, the Director of ACAPR and the Permanent Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Council, this session took place at the Center for Information of Direction of the Government, located at the Government Office Headquarters in Hanoi.

EuroCham was represented by Mr. Minh Nguyen, Vice-Chairman of EuroCham, Ms. Diep Truong, Advocacy Manager of EuroCham and Ms. Nguyen Cam Van, Head of EuroCham’s Hanoi office cum External Relations Manager.

The central agenda of the working session revolved around two key topics:

  1. Implementation of ACAPR’s Activities in the Last 4 Months of 2023: ACAPR, as an essential regulatory body, is instrumental in streamlining administrative procedures in Vietnam. The session provided an opportunity for EuroCham to gain insight into ACAPR’s forthcoming plans and initiatives for the remainder of the year. This engagement allowed EuroCham to align its efforts with ACAPR’s objectives, facilitating a smoother operational environment for European businesses in Vietnam.
  2. Summary of Business Associations’ Difficulties and Problems in Implementing Mechanisms, Policies, and Administrative Procedures: The second part of the session delved into the challenges faced by business associations in adapting to the evolving landscape of mechanisms, policies, and administrative procedures. EuroCham took this occasion to share valuable feedback based on the experiences of its member companies, thereby contributing to the ongoing dialogue aimed at improving the business climate in Vietnam.

The working session was marked by open discussions, with a shared commitment to continuous improvement and cooperation between EuroCham and ACAPR.

As EuroCham continues to play a pivotal role in representing European businesses in Vietnam, such engagements will remain integral to fostering a thriving and harmonious business environment in the country.
