EuroCham meeting with the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department

On 31 May, EuroCham Vietnam participated in a discussion with the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department. Representing the HCMC Customs Department were newly appointed Director of HCMC Customs Department Nguyen Hoang Tuan,  Head of the Export Import Duty Division Hoang Huu Truong, and  Deputy Chief of Office Nguyen Bich Lien. EuroCham Vietnam’s delegation included Vice-Chair in charge of Advocacy Jean-Jacques Bouflet, Chairman of the Transportation and Logistics Sector Committee Juergen Weber, and Advocacy Manager Truong Ngoc Diep.

The meeting addressed several critical issues faced by the European business community, including on-spot import and export procedures, container blockages at seaports and airports, security screening of cargo, and certificates of origin.

EuroCham Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department have enjoyed a longstanding and comprehensive partnership over the years. Both parties annually seek to implement initiatives and workshops aimed at providing businesses with essential information and training on customs procedures, thereby facilitating a smoother import and export process.

Looking ahead, EuroCham Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department will collaborate in organising events to address business challenges and queries, as well as to provide updates on the EVFTA customs procedures relevant to the European business community. The specific date and time of this event will be determined in due course.
