Ho Chi Minh City, June 3rd, 2020 – EuroCham Pharma Group members [AstraZeneca; Boehringer Ingelheim; Ferring Pharmaceuticals; Gedeon Richter; GlaxoSmithKline; Merck Sharp & Dohme; Novartis Vietnam Co., Ltd; Pfizer; Servier; Takeda] today jointly donated an equivalent total of 100,000 USD (minimum at 5,000 USD per company) to the Vietnam Fatherland Front national campaign on the prevention, treatment of the acute respiratory syndrome COVID-19.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh highly appreciated EuroCham Pharma Group members’ efforts in joining hands with the Vietnam Government to overcome challenges and combat effectively the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Dan Millard, Co-Chair, EuroCham Pharma Group, emphasized “The innovative pharmaceutical industry in general and Pharma Group members specifically are making collaborative efforts in the research, trials of therapeutic solutions for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh also said that after 45 days since the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front issued the call for "All people to join in supporting the prevention and control of COVID-19", until the 6th of May, the amount of money and in kind that agencies, units, organizations, businesses, individuals and compatriots abroad support, register for support through the system from the central to local levels reached nearly 2,000 billion VND. “This is the largest number of supports received ever, this is due to the support from all sides towards the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic. This indeed showcases the trust and expectation of the public on the accountable and transparent allocation of support from the Vietnam Fatherland Front” said Vice President Truong Thi Ngoc Anh.
