EuroCham Sector Committee Joins Consultation Workshop with Ministry of Health’s VFA

At a consultation workshop on the morning of October 4, the Ministry of Health’s Vietnam Food Administration (VFA) announced the development of a draft circular on the list of milk and functional foods for children under six years old which are subject to price declaration and price stabilisation.

At the workshop, the VFA established a timeline for the issuance of the draft circular, shared key points of the circular’s content, and collected comments on the draft circular from the Drafting Committee as well as Editors and Representatives in attendance at the meeting, particularly regarding criteria for the proposed price database. Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen welcomed the comments and suggested that the VFA and the Legal Department of the Ministry of Health jointly review and complete the draft circular to reflect the accepted comments and clearly explain the reasoning for comments that were not accepted, in accordance with standard procedures.

Alongside the Vietnam Dairy Association, Consumer Protection Association, and Anti-Counterfeiting and Brand Protection Association, the Nutritional Foods Group (NFG) – a EuroCham sector committee – attended the workshop and contributed comments on the draft Circular. NFG also committed to supporting the VFA in drafting the circular to align with other laws and regulations. Nguyen Cam Van, Eurocham Head of Hanoi Office cum. External Relations Manager, also joined and contributed to the workshop.
