EuroCham is proud to have participated in the SEB Nordic CEO Conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 10 to 12 March 2024. Organized by northern European bank SEB, the conference united business leaders, diplomats, policymakers, academics, and stakeholders from Vietnam and Nordic countries.
The conference featured the presence of esteemed international figures, including Carl Bildt, former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Sweden; Randi Kristiansen, Director of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) , Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero; and Alok Sharma, UK MP and President of COP26. This event also saw significant participation from prominent businesses such as Ericsson, FPT, Lego, Samsung Vietnam, SEB, Standard Chartered, Vingroup and many more.
EuroCham Executive Director, Delphine Rousselet, and Julien Guerrier, EU Ambassador to Vietnam took part in a panel discussion on “Are EU-Vietnam Relations on the Rise?” held on 11 March. Ann Måwe, Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam, moderated the session. The discussion provided insights into the dynamic EU-Vietnam relationship, emphasizing the role of European business in Vietnam, the concrete impacts and benefits of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) since its implementation in 2020, and the challenges that lie ahead.
In her remarks, Ms. Rousselet underscored the significance of EuroCham’s Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) as a cornerstone event that contributes to the green transition in Vietnam. She elaborated on how the GEFE exemplifies the commitment of the European business community to sustainable development and environmental stewardship in Vietnam.
