EuroCham Shared Our Views on Boosting Vietnam’s Business and Tourism on VTV4

On February 27, EuroCham Chairman Alain Cany, Vice-Chairman Gabor Fluit, and Chairman of the Tourism & Hospitality Sector Committee (THSC) Chairman Mario Mendis were featured on VTV4, where they shared EuroCham’s insights on Vietnam’s business and tourism landscape.

 

Chairman Alain Cany emphasized the preferences of European consumers and the need for Vietnamese companies to enhance the quality and sustainability of their products. He acknowledged the Vietnamese government’s efforts to improve the business environment and create favorable conditions for foreign investors, and suggested that EuroCham could work closely with the government to promote the exchange of ideas and best practices. In his segment, Vice-Chairman Gabor Fluit recognized the impressive development of Vietnam’s retail industry and its potential to become a major player in the global market. He also highlighted the challenges faced by foreign workers when applying for work permits in Vietnam. His remarks on these issues can be found in the video at 4:29 and 13:38.

 

THSC Chairman Mario Mendis stressed the importance of the tourism sector to Vietnam’s economy and proposed extending the visa-free travel period for European travelers to 30 days to attract more tourists to Vietnam. He also discussed Vietnam’s golf tourism potential, emphasizing the country’s unique offerings and diverse landscapes. Chairman Mendis expressed his hope that EuroCham could work closely with the Vietnamese government to develop sustainable tourism policies that would benefit both tourists and local communities.
