About Vietnam Export Promotion Forum 2024
As sustainable development has attracted increasing global interest, Vietnam has made strong commitments to reduce emissions – most significant among all is the country’s COP 26 commitment to reach net-zero carbon emission by 2050. However, green transformation also poses many challenges at both the policy and implementation levels for developing countries such as Vietnam. Thus, the Green Export Promotion Forum 2024 creates a channel for dialogue and consultation with experienced domestic and international experts on the topic of green export.
Speakers from various fields discussed key topics including:
- Difficulties and opportunities in green trade development
- Solutions and policies to support green trade
- Pathway towards the standardisation of green supply chains
- Supporting policies and solutions for implementing green export promotion initiatives.
The Vietnam Export Promotion Forum 2024 drew attention to the evolving green transformation in both EU and Vietnam and equipped attendants with expert insights for their adjustment to the transition.
Emphasising the importance of shaping trade activities to meet EU Regulations
EuroCham Vice Chairman Minh Nguyen shared his view on the green transformation trend in global trade, reflected by green regulations and sustainable standards applied on commercial commodities. He highlighted that EU regulations on environmental protection, such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), play an important role in shaping trade activities towards the European market.
Hence, to meet EU trade regulations and ensure a stable trade flow to high-standard markets like the EU, Vietnamese enterprises must be well-aware of these standards and adapt their business accordingly to successfully export.
EuroCham Vietnam has been a key player in advocating for sustainable development in Vietnam and will maintain its role as the bridge between green policies and the business community.
