EuroCham Vietnam Joined 79th National Day Celebration with HCMC People’s Committee

On the evening of Thursday, 29 August 2024, EuroCham Vietnam had the honour of joining the celebration of Vietnam’s 79th National Day in Ho Chi Minh City. The event, chaired by H.E. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, was a significant gathering that brought together representatives from the city’s leadership, foreign consulates, international organisations, cultural and economic offices, foreign business associations, and non-governmental organisations operating in Ho Chi Minh City. EuroCham Chairman Dominik Meichle participated alongside representatives from #TeamEurope and other countries.

Chairman Phan Van Mai highlighted Ho Chi Minh City’s pride in its economic and cultural contributions to Vietnam’s success. He emphasised the city’s efforts to shift its economic structure towards innovation, science, technology, and enhanced productivity, aligning with the global trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He also acknowledged the invaluable support of the international community, particularly in promoting the city’s image and attracting resources for socio-economic development.

The event was a testament to the robust relationship between EuroCham and the Ho Chi Minh City authorities. EuroCham’s participation alongside other foreign consulates and international entities demonstrated a collective appreciation for Vietnam’s history and achievements. The occasion provided a platform to celebrate the spirit of unity and collaboration that defines Vietnam’s relations with its international partners.

EuroCham remains committed to strengthening ties with Ho Chi Minh City and the broader Vietnamese community, supporting initiatives that foster deeper cooperation, innovation, and shared prosperity.
