EuroCham’s Construction Sector Committee: spearheading sustainable development in Vietnam’s construction industry

The construction industry in Vietnam, mirroring global trends, is witnessing significant transformations, with sustainability and innovation at the forefront. The EuroCham Construction Sector Committee, established in July 2023, is playing a key role in this dynamic landscape.

A prominent industry voice, the Construction Sector Committee now has 20 active members focusing on five working groups: Sustainable cities & building, Firefighting, Best practices, Standards, and Land use.

The Construction Sector Committee’s formation marks a step in bridging the gap between the public and private sectors. Providing expert opinions to the government on legislative issues and construction-related issues, the committee encourages the industry to become more sustainable and environmentally conscious.

Advocacy goals: stability, sustainability, and safety

At its core, the committee’s advocacy is threefold:

  • Firstly, to establish a stable regulatory framework for the construction industry in Vietnam.
  • Secondly, to promote best practices and international standards, thus enhancing skills and contributing to the industry’s sustainable development.
  • Lastly, to foster innovation, investment, and collaboration, with a keen focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. These goals are crucial in cultivating a thriving construction sector that contributes to Vietnam’s economic and social development.
