EuroCham and its Legal Sector Committee would like to invite you to this real estate industry-leading event titled “The Impact of the New Vietnamese Land Law“. The event will include a panel discussion featuring professionals and thought leaders from various sectors, providing a platform for valuable discussions on emerging trends and challenges in the real estate industry with a lens on the Draft Vietnamese Land Law and some of the key changes to the existing Land Law included in the draft.

Paul VolodarskyRegional Head of Real Estate of DFDL
Paul Volodarsky is a Partner based in Vietnam and Thailand. Paul has brought a wealth of experience to DFDL and his practice focuses on corporate structuring for real estate investment, hotel management, agreement negotiation and drafting, industrial and retail property acquisitions, and construction contracts. He has advised individual buyers, developers, and investment groups on real estate investments throughout Southeast Asia, with a focus on the industrial and hospitality sectors. While advising clients, his strives to understand their investment goals and to identify creative solutions to achieve the desired outcome.

John CampbellAssociate Director, Head of Industrial Services at Savills
John Campbell joined Savills in 2017 to head the new Industrial Services Department and to further cement Savills leadership position in Viet Nam. With his dynamic local team, John delivers a blend of strategic insights and high-touch service. His expertise in Integrated Facility Management (IFM) combined with his
experience of the local Industrial sector has already seen the new Department successfully complete many ready-builds, factory acquisition deals and lease transactions.

Chau TaExecutive Director, Legal Transactions at SC Capital Partners Group
Chau is the Executive Director, Legal Transaction for SC Capital Partners Group, a funds manager managing RECAP opportunistic funds investing in real estate. She leads (legally) all transactions for SC Capital Pan Asia including Australia and Vietnam.
She has over 21 years work experience in the real estate sector – highly experienced in real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, international corporate/commercial law. Chau has been living and working from Vietnam for 16 years and is highly regarded for her real estate insights and knowledge within Vietnam and is appointed on the Panel of Judges for the Vietnam Property Awards, since 2015 and continuing. Chau launched the first annual AusCham – Vietnam Real Estate Symposium in 2012 – this is now its 10th year running.
Chau has served as a board director of the Auscham Vietnam between 2012 -2021. She was the president for Auscham Vietnam in 2017 and 2018.
Chau is a Foundation Member of AustCham ASEAN, served as President in 2020 and 2021 and as Vice President in 2022 and continuing.
Chau also sits on the Australia Vietnam Leadership Dialogue Advisory Board, UNICEF Vietnam Corporate Advisory Board, the Asean-Australia Education Dialogue Advisory Committee and RMIT Vietnam School of Business Management Industry Advisory Board.
Chau is Australian raised, bread-fed educated lawyer, holding a Bachelor of Arts /Bachelor of Laws (Honors) and Masters of International Law (Honors) from University of Sydney. She is married to a Vietnamese husband with 3 children. -
Leif SchneiderVice-Chair of the EuroCham Legal Sector Committee
Leif Schneider is a German-qualified attorney with almost a decade of experience in Europe and the emerging markets of Southeast Asia. His portfolio of professional expertise includes intellectual property (IP) and trademark law, international arbitration/litigation and dispute resolution, cross-border M&A transactions, corporate law, foreign direct investment (FDI), and the capital markets.
Before joining DFDL, he has worked for various specialised law firms across Asia, including engagements in Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. His international client portfolio includes a diverse spectrum of businesses from startups to large multinational corporates that originate in the manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, F&B, investment, tech and infrastructure sectors. Previously, Leif also gained experience working in-house at a large financial institution in the region, based out of Hong Kong.
Located in DFDL’s Ho Chi Minh City office, Leif has been supporting the firm’s clients with their projects in the area of M&A, corporate compliance, commercial transaction, labour law, and other foreign direct investment matters since January 2023. As a specialist deal consultant for pan-Asian business expansion, his clients seek his advice on a broad spectrum of local and regional corporate transactions with a Vietnam focus.
Leif has been practicing law in Vietnam since 2018 and is licensed as a foreign lawyer by the Vietnamese Ministry of Justice. He also holds the office as the Co-Chair of the European Chamber of Commerce’s Legal Sector Committee in Vietnam, in which he supports the NGO’s efforts to improve the Vietnamese business environment for European stakeholders.
