H.R.H Princess Viktoria De Bourbon De Parme attends a discussion on responsible agriculture by EuroCham and Save the Children

On April 25, EuroChamSave the Children, and the Dutch Business Association Vietnam (DBAV) organized a dinner and discussion in Hanoi on responsible agriculture supply chains. The event brought together agribusinesses, government agencies, and development organizations, with the honorable presence of H.R.H Princess Viktoria de Bourbon de Parme, the Patroness of Save the Children Netherlands. The moderator for the event was Torben Minko, Vice-Chair of EuroCham.

In her keynote address, Princess Viktoria stressed the significance of backing child rights in business operations. She noted that healthy, educated, and protected children are crucial in developing thriving and productive farming communities, which are essential for ensuring long-term food supply and security. The Princess also highlighted that investing in children is not only a moral obligation but also a sound business decision. Furthermore, she expressed enthusiasm for the prospect of collaboration among companies, civil society organizations, and the government to enhance the well-being of children in Vietnam’s smallholder farming communities.

The event’s panel discussion included two guest speakers, representatives from the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) and the Global Coffee Platform (GCP). The panelists discussed the best practices in responsible sourcing and how to strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration to achieve both business and community sustainability goals.
