On 23 December 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration (Ministry of Health) held a conference to launch the 2025 operational plan for managing medical facilities and equipment. Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, attended and delivered a speech at the conference.
In his remarks, Mr. Tuyen acknowledged the achievements of the Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration over the past period. They have effectively promoted international cooperation, facilitated technology transfer, and adopted advanced management practices, paving the way for integrating modern solutions into Vietnam’s medical device management.
Notably, the Deputy Minister emphasised focus efforts to bring Vietnam’s healthcare sector closer to the international standards:
- Expanding international collaboration
- Partnering with foreign stakeholders
- Adopting cutting-edge technology
- Enhancing the management capabilities of medical devices.
Speaking at the conference, Mrs. Truong Thi To Hoa, Co-Head of the Regulatory Affairs Working Group, Medical Devices and Diagnostics Sector Committee (MDDSC) of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), shared the accomplishments of the partnerships between EuroCham and the Department of Infrastructure and Medical Devices. Mrs. Hoa highlighted the successes of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties and stressed the urgent need to strengthen further collaboration in 2025. This partnership aims to support businesses, address industry challenges, and ensure the Vietnamese public’s access to a modern and advanced healthcare system for the 2025–2030 period.
