About ActionAid
ActionAid Vietnam is a member of ActionAid International Federation, working in Vietnam since 1989 in more than 20 provinces in the poorest areas of the country in the Northwest mountains, Central Highlands and Mekong regions to end poverty.
What we do
Our programmes operate at multiple levels to advance human rights and tackle the root causes of discrimination, exclusion and vulnerability across 5 key areas:
• Promoting alternative livelihoods and sustainable agriculture
• Helping communities take action together to hold their governments to account, increasing youth
leadership, and giving local organizations our support where they need it.
• Promoting a safer and non-discriminatory learning environment, improving accountability in schools, promoting rights in schools (PRS)
• Building resilience and preparedness for communities in disaster and climate change issues
• Build social and political alternatives for women and girls
Our staff
45 staff members of caliber are working in 3 offices: Head Office in Hanoi, Southern Region Programme Office in Ho Chi Minh City, and Central Region Programme Office in Ban Me Thuot City.
Our Partners
AAV works with different partners, primarily including the poor, the excluded and marginalized people, communities, knowledge institutions, civil society organizations, corporate, institutional donors, individual supporters, and other stakeholders. Our partners contribute more than money. Their ideas, volunteer power, in-kind support and more are helping fight for poverty in Vietnam.
