Sourcing is a function of Global Operations in adidas Group. Sourcing has divisions which include Footwear, Apparel, as well as Accessories & Gear and its primary responsibility is to ensure adidas Group’s products are manufactured according to sales and market needs. We work with our suppliers to ensure adidas Group’s products are manufactured in a timely, cost-efficient and sustainable manner. In order to fulfill the high quality expectation of our consumers, we enforce strict control and inspection procedures at our suppliers. In addition, we promote adherence to social and environmental standards throughout our supply base. We also support Global Operations and the Group on strategic initiatives aimed at building speed, agility and connectivity in our supply chain.
Sourcing operates through a network of over 20 offices located on four continents. In 2018, we sourced nearly 1 billion units of shoes, garments and accessories from factories worldwide.
LOCATIONS AND BRANDS
Activities of adidas Group and its more than 170 subsidiaries are directed from the Group’s headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The adidas Group also operates creation centers and development departments at other locations around the world, corresponding to the related business activity.
adidas Sourcing Limited is a subsidiary of adidas AG and it has a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City, responsible for sourcing adidas Group’s products in Vietnam.
