On 7 January 2025, the Central Economic Commission, VINASME, Vietnam Economic Times, and Vietnam Economic Association organised the 17th Vietnam Economic Scenarios Forum (VESF) – The Spring Plenary Meeting 2025 in Hanoi.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including:
- H.E. Mr. Ho Duc Phoc – Deputy Prime Minister
- H.E. Mr. Nguyen Hong Son – Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission
- Dr. Chu Van Lam – Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Economic Association
Attending on behalf of EuroCham was Ms. Nguyen Cam Van – Head of Hanoi Office cum External Relations Manager.
Evaluating the 2021 – 2025 plan
The VESF 2025, under theme “Drastic Reforms for a new economic era”, reviewed and evaluated the 4-year implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period. The Forum also identified revolutionary breakthroughs to focus on in 2025, especially mechanisms and policies in the direction of “drilling the people’s strength” and “no barriers”. This focus aims to arouse the strength of solidarity and collaborations among businesses and individuals to develop the country’s economy and the nation’s prosperity.
Analysing economic trends in 2026 – 2030
Finally, the Forum emphasises the need to analyze, evaluate, and identify the world’s and Vietnam’s economic trends in 2025 and the medium term of 2026-2030, especially in the fields of:
- Investment
- Business and trade trends based on the international context
- Digital revolutions
- Sustainability
The Vietnam Economic Scenario Forum (VESF), initiated in 2008, serves as a mechanism for dialogue, feedback and updates on guidelines and policies of the Party, Government, and National Assembly. VESF is also a trusted discussion platform for action plans of ministries, sectors and localities and their implementation by businesses in various economic sectors.
