Chaimen Messages | Membership Renewal 2018

Dear Members,

In 2017, EuroCham has grown closer to its members by implementing internal changes and upgrades, as well as diversifying our activities and instigating new initiatives.

Over the course of this year, we organised more than 60 events, including training, seminars, conferences and networking events. In terms of advocacy activities, we continued to bring the European business community and the Vietnamese Government together. Throughout 2017, we gave our members opportunities to talk directly with officials in over 20 diverse meetings and seminars, involving the most relevant departments and the highest circles of Government.

We also launched the 9th edition of our Whitebook – our trade and investment issues and recommendations publication – alongside two more publications: the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) Report and the Greenbook. Both were delivered in September in Brussels to the EU institutions, including to the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, among other key officials.

The first edition of our Greenbook represents the launch of an entirely new project, focusing on bringing together private and public sector players in renewable energy, waste and water management, smart cities, green building and other green business. The Greenbook and its accompanying website (www.greenbook.com) is the birth of a new platform for the green and sustainable business community, open to all EuroCham members and companies with ties to Europe.

In 2017, EuroCham’s province outreach saw further progress with the EuroCham Central Vietnam Chapter, opened a year ago, being joined by two others. The North-eastern Vietnam Chapter (based in Hai Phong) opened in October, and the South-eastern Vietnam Chapter (based in Binh Duong) will open this December. EuroCham continues to seek to be closer to its members, with our local Delegates as the first local contact point for our members outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

As a Chamber that delivers so much, it is always difficult to summarise all that we have done this year in just a few words. In addition to the information that we provide to members through our website, social media and weekly e-bulletin, please find enclosed an overview of EuroCham’s activities in 2017, providing you with more detailed information on all our work this year.

EuroCham is honoured to have you as a member and looks forward to continuing to work together to make 2018 another successful year.  Should you have any questions or comments, our Team is at your disposal at our offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, as are our Delegates in Binh Duong, Da Nang and Hai Phong.

Please note that the deadline for the settlement of the membership fee is the 30th of January 2018.

The Membership Fee invoices have been sent to you by post. Please note that payments made by members after that date will mean that we will not be able to include their profiles in the printed EuroCham Membership Directory 2018. In addition, payment settlement also affects your voting rights during the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

We hope that we can continue to merit your support and membership. We look forward to meeting you soon at our annual EuroCham Christmas Party, taking place in Hanoi on the 5th of December and in Ho Chi Minh City on the 7th of December.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

With our kindest regards,

On behalf of EuroCham's Executive Committee of
