On 24 April 2025, EuroCham’s Vice-Chair in charge of Advocacy Jean-Jacques Bouflet attended the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Regional Conference in Ho Chi Minh City. This year’s conference theme is “Unlocking Potential and Resources for Rapid and Sustainable Economic Growth in Vietnam”.
The conference welcomed high-level leaders from VCCI, including:
- Mr. Vo Tan Thanh – Vice President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI)
- Mr. Nguyen Hoa Cuong – Vice President of Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM)
- Ms. Nguyen Viet Ha – Representative from Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT)
- Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tue – General Director of Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Center – VCCI
At the conference, EuroCham’s Vice-Chair Jean-Jacques Bouflet delivered a keynote speech on “The EU Market: Opportunities and Strategic Shifts in a Changing Global Landscape.” He emphasised the importance of preserving multilateral, rule-based trade frameworks and warned against the short-term risks of preferential arrangements that bypass WTO principles.
He highlighted how the EU–Vietnam partnership, grounded in sustainability and legal certainty, can empower Vietnamese businesses to scale through initiatives like the Global Gateway, the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), and the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
Mr. Bouflet urged Vietnamese enterprises to reduce informality, raise standards, and align with the EU’s green and digital transitions to unlock long-term market access and investment opportunities.
