EuroCham attends Tay Ninh Business connection Forum on June 2

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) and EuroCham held the Business Connection Forum on June 2 in Tay Ninh Province. The forum served as an invaluable platform to form partnerships among policymakers and the business community.

 

The following dignitaries were there for the forum:

  • Party Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyễn Thành Tâm
  • Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Ngọc
  • Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phùng Đức Tiến
  • Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City Daniel Stork

 

 

EuroCham Chairman Gabor Fluit, in his speech at the forum, reaffirmed EuroCham’s commitment to collaborative efforts for shared benefits. Bolstered by firsthand experience in the agricultural sector, he expressed confidence in Tay Ninh’s potential as a sustainable agricultural export hub.

 

 

Representatives from EuroCham’s Sector Committees (SC) and members, including from the Food, Agri & Aqua Business Sector Committee (FAABS)Transportation and Logistics Sector Committee (TLSC); and Green Growth Sector Committee (GGSC), were present to share the following:

  • FAABS Chairman Jesper Clausen emphasized Tay Ninh’s agricultural growth potential. He called for adapting the legal framework, adopting a One Health approach in livestock and aquaculture, and leveraging the EVFTA.
  • FAABS Vice-Chairman Paul-Antoine Croize discussed deep agriculture processing, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) strategy, and market development.
  • HSBC Vietnam’s Country Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance Surajit Rakshit underlined agriculture’s substantial contribution to Vietnam’s economy. He noted its growth in farming, fisheries, and forestry, along with increased export turnover. Mr. Rakshit also mentioned the industry’s shift toward digitalization and sustainability.
  • CCIPV Chairman and GGSC Vice-Chairman Sergio Silva delivered an address on Tay Ninh’s development potential. He stressed the need for finding synergies between growth and sustainability, promoting livable cities, waste-free factories, clean water, renewable energy, and safe agriculture.
  • TLSC Chairman Juergen Weber highlighted the need for sustainability in the transport sector. He recommended reducing empty backhauls and enhancing digitalization in the short term, energy efficiency and greener standards in the medium term. He also called for government support and infrastructure development for green energy.

 

 

To set the foundation for strong cooperation and strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the agricultural landscape of Tay Ninh, we are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee, EuroCham Vietnam, and the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA).  We give our gratitude to all parties involved for their dedication and vision in creating new opportunities and breaking through challenges.

 

 

As part of EuroCham’s visit to Tay Ninh, the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee also organized a Gala Dinner on June 1 at the Melia Vinpearl Tay Ninh Hotel. The dinner served as a social gathering and networking opportunity for participants.
