On Friday, 22 November 2024, EuroCham’s Medical Devices and Diagnostics Sector Committee (MDDSC), led by Chairman Dr. Qadeer Raza, hosted a comprehensive training session on the “Code of Ethical Conduct for Interaction with Healthcare Professionals” at The Reverie Saigon. Attendees included MDDSC member company representatives, Business Ethics Working Group members, and over 80 distributors.
The Code of Ethical Conduct, developed in March 2018 and enacted on October 2, 2019, serves as a critical guideline to ensure ethical interactions within Vietnam’s medical devices and diagnostics industry. It underscores responsible practices when engaging with healthcare professionals, government bodies, and NGOs, contributing to a healthy, transparent business environment. The Code’s ultimate goal is to promote a sustainable, fair investment landscape for medical devices in Vietnam.
This session was organized to provide distributors with a deep understanding of the Code’s provisions, which extend beyond MDDSC members to third-party partners, including consulting firms, distributors, and sales agents. With the support of EuroCham’s Business Ethics and Compliance Working Group, participants engaged in open discussions to address the Code’s practical applications and clarify specific concerns.
Interactive Q&A sessions allowed attendees to voice questions both via form submissions and in person, emphasizing MDDSC’s dedication to upholding and facilitating high ethical standards. The event concluded with a call for continued collaboration, with all participants reaffirming their commitment to implementing the Code effectively, thus reinforcing ethical integrity across Vietnam’s healthcare industry.
