On Wednesday, 3 April 2024, the European Business Organization Worldwide Network’s (EBO WWN) Southeast Asian chambers convened in Phnom Penh, welcoming figures such as Ambassador Sujiro Seam from the European Delegation to ASEAN, and Antoine Ripoll, Minister Counsellor for Parliamentary Affairs at the European Union Delegation to ASEAN.

The meeting united directors from European Chambers of Commerce across the region, representing Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Delphine Rousselet, our Executive Director, was on-hand to represent EuroCham Vietnam.
Ambassador Seam delivered a detailed update on the EU-ASEAN relationship, underlining the strides and hurdles encountered in their comprehensive partnership. He stressed the critical role of ongoing dialogue and collaboration in addressing global challenges and fostering shared prosperity.
Minister Counsellor Ripoll offered insights into the forthcoming EU elections, delineating the anticipated political landscape, shifts in policy directions, and their repercussions on EU-ASEAN relations.
This meeting underscored the Team Europe approach, setting the stage for joint European and ASEAN business associations to devise collaborative actions for the next 12 to 24 months. The focus was on strengthening economic ties, expanding trade and investment opportunities, and building robust relationships between European and ASEAN businesses, with an emphasis on promoting sustainable development.
For EuroCham Vietnam, this gathering was a crucial platform to promote the Green Economy Forum and Exhibition (GEFE) 2024. The dialogue ventured into possible collaborative initiatives within the region for the GEFE.
