Mr. Dennis QuennetProgramme Director - Sustainable Economic Development at GIZ VietnamDennis Quennet holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and an academic certificate in Business Administration and Management from reputable institutions in Germany.
Quennet started his professional career in 2005 with the private sector, where he worked for consulting companies. Since 2008, he has been working for the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in various functions in Germany and worldwide.
He spent six years in Mexico, working as Programme Director for GIZ who led project teams in the areas of sustainable industry, urban development and transport, implemented on behalf of the German Government and in collaboration with government and private sector partners. Topics related to Quennet’s work in this mission included: Industrial Environmental Management; Waste Management; Sustainable Consumption and Production; Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency.In early 2022, Quennet took on a new role as Programme Director at GIZ in Viet Nam to lead a team of 70 professionals implementing Sustainable Economic Development projects, on behalf of the German Government and in cooperation with Vietnamese government and private sector partners. Alongside of this role, he is the Chief Technical Advisor for the Macroeconomic Reforms/Green Growth Programme. Topics related to his current mission are: Green Growth; Sustainable Finance; Circular Economy; Value Chain Development and Sustainable Consumption and Production.
Dennis Quennet has extensive experience working with governments and the private sector in Europe, Latin America and Asia. His actual overall practical focus is on supporting the transition of emerging economies like Viet Nam into a climate-neutral and environmentally friendly economy.
