
About our Food, Agri & Aqua Business Sector Committee (FAABS)
Vietnam’s agricultural and aquaculture industries will remain critical. EuroCham’s Food, Agri and Aqua Business Sector Committee (FAABS) has organized itself under EuroCham’s direction to make sure this sector becomes stronger, more competitive, and more high-tech without necessarily increasing costs.
With the government, its agencies, Vietnamese and European companies or other stakeholders, FAABS aims to enhance the competitiveness of food, agriculture, and aquaculture in Vietnam.
Key Interests
- Improve food safety for humans and animals;
- Establish a level playing field for local, international, and small businesses regardless of size, location, and nationality when it comes to financing, raw materials, obtaining licenses, etc.
- Enhance Vietnam’s food, agriculture, and aquaculture sustainability

14 August 2024: FAABS sent out a letter to support a member with the issue on classification of imported ingredients. The letter was directed to the Department of Livestock Production, MARD (DLP).
22 August 2024: FAABS Chairman – Paul-Antoine Croize participated in the interview about the IUU fishing conducted by Vietnamplus
19 September 2024: FAABS organised the Breakfast Talk CSRD in Agriculture and Food Industry: Implication for Vietnam.
22 October 2024: FAABS had 3 conference panels in GEFE 2024 with the topics regarding:
- – Green and sustainable agriculture value chain
- – A one-health food production approach
- – Regenerative farming systems
13 November 2024: EuroCham’s Food, Agri, and Aquaculture Business Sector Committee (FAABS) held a pivotal meeting with Mr. Laurent Lourdais, Deputy Head of Trade Section at the EU Delegation to Vietnam. The discussion focused on advancing green and sustainable agricultural practices, addressing regulatory challenges, and enhancing Vietnam’s export readiness. The session provided a platform for constructive dialogue and collaborative solutions to drive progress in Vietnam’s agriculture sector.
23 July 2024: FAABS Vice Chair – Ywert Visser – attended the Agriculture Forum 2024 “Breakthrough smart agriculture from 5.0 technology” organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
19 May 2024: FAABS attended the Gala Dinner and side event organised by Hung Nhon Group in Tay Ninh.
11 April 2024: FAABS Board conducted a meeting with the International Cooperation Department of MARD to discuss about the collaboration and partnership prospect between FAABS and MARD.
29 March 2024: FAABS Vice Chair – Ywert Visser – interviewed by VTV4 regarding the perspective of agriculture industry towards green and sustainable for FDI. His interview concluded with 3 key points: Climate change’s impact on the agriculture industry, FDI’s investment in sustainable agriculture, and Recommendations from FAABS for a way forward.
22 March 2024: FAABS sent out the letter to the MARD and MOST regarding the implementation of conformity regulations.
12 March 2024: FAABS representatives including FAABS Chair (Paul-Antoine Croizé), Vice Chair and Treasurer (Pieter Buijs), and Member (Surajit Rakshit) attended the “Business Connection Forum – Industrial, Trading, and High-tech Agriculture 2024”.
16 January 2024: FAABS Vice Chairman Paul-Antoine Croizé highlighted the need for ecological agriculture, a one health approach in livestock, and financial support for sustainable development. Recommendations included reducing pesticide use, promoting biosecurity, and introducing subsidized ESG incentives in EuroCham Whitebook 2024 Launch in Hanoi.
