In alignment with the implementation of the Extended Producers’ Responsibilities (EPR) Decree under Vietnam’s Environmental Law, FrieslandCampina Vietnam, a EuroCham member, is at the forefront of championing EPR to foster a greener, cleaner, and more beautiful Vietnam.
Understanding the significance of sustainable packaging practices, FrieslandCampina Vietnam has been a trailblazer in environmental stewardship. As early as 2020, the company co-founded the Packaging Recycling Organization of Vietnam (PRO VN), alongside 21 other companies, to synergize efforts in developing robust EPR regulations and policies. This collaborative platform aims to enhance packaging collection and recycling capacities among member companies, showcasing a collective commitment to environmental sustainability.
In a recent move, FrieslandCampina Vietnam has broadened its environmental initiatives by establishing a strategic 3-party partnership with Dong Tien, a local paper recycling firm, and Truong Thinh, a waste collection company. This collaboration, a first of its kind in the region, is geared towards augmenting packaging collection and recycling efforts beyond the existing capacities of PRO VN. This pioneering initiative showcases FrieslandCampina Vietnam’s proactive and responsible approach towards environmental management.
The significance of this partnership was underscored at the signing ceremony held on 14 November, attended by EuroCham’s Vice-Chairman Jean-Jacques Bouflet and Executive Director Delphine Rousselet, among other dignitaries. This event marked a milestone in FrieslandCampina Vietnam’s journey towards environmental sustainability.
Through these efforts, FrieslandCampina Vietnam exemplifies corporate responsibility in environmental stewardship, setting a benchmark for others in the industry. Their proactive steps in EPR implementation pave the way for a sustainable future, reinforcing EuroCham’s commitment to environmental sustainability in Vietnam.
