On July 7, 2023, the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Ho Chi Minh City (ITPC) jointly organized an investment promotion conference on the theme of “Improving investment attraction and proposing effective legal solutions for investors in Ho Chi Minh City.” EuroCham was represented by Vice-Chairman Minh Nguyen and Advocacy Manager Diep Truong.
One of the key highlights of the conference was a proposal put forth by Mr. Chau Viet Bac, Vice Secretary General of VIAC. He suggested the establishment of an investment legal support forum, to be held biannually, in collaboration with the ITPC and relevant agencies. The forum’s objective would be to gather foreign investors’ opinions on the legal obstacles they encounter and devise effective legal frameworks to address these challenges. The proposed forum is intended to bring together representatives from foreign business associations, law firms, and VIAC arbitrators, fostering dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders.
During his remarks, Vice-Chairman Minh Nguyen expressed EuroCham’s commitment to supporting and joining this initiative. EuroCham, as the leading voice representing the European business community, acknowledges the significance of an inclusive platform where foreign investors can voice their concerns and contribute to the development of an investor-friendly legal environment.
