On 11 February 2025, EuroCham Vietnam joined the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham), the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (KoCham), and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) in a quarterly inter-chamber meeting. This first meeting in 2025 was hosted by AmCham in Ho Chi Minh City. Representing EuroCham were Vice Chair in charge of Advocacy Jean-Jacques Bouflet, Advocacy Manager Diep Truong, Membership & Corporate Relations Manager Linh Nguyen, and Head of Hanoi Office cum External Relations Manager Van Nguyen.
AmCham leads survey on the Impact of US Tariffs on Vietnam
With the recent changes in US trade tariff policies, AmCham had been conducting a survey on how US tariffs impact investment in Vietnam. Preliminary results showed that 94% of respondents still view Vietnam as a favorable business environment. The final survey result would be published and shared with the US government.
On the topic of shifting global trade dynamics, AmCham predicted that the US may pursue bilateral trade agreements with individual EU member states. Lastly, AmCham was also addressing advocacy issues that directly impact Vietnam’s business landscape, including data law, food safety, import/export procedures, pharma regulations, and e-commerce taxation.

EuroCham prepares for high-level visits from EU Commission
Responding to AmCham’s prediction regarding bilateral FTAs, EuroCham believes that the EU will prioritise Multilateral trade agreements. EuroCham also updates on the preparation for high-level visits from the EU Trade Commissioner and President of the European Commission to Vietnam. This is an excellent occasion to strengthen Vietnam-EU relationship and opens up new opportunities for Vietnam-EU trade and further collaborations.
JCCH proposes operational improvements for Tan Son Nhat Airport
With Vietnam increasingly becoming a hub for business and travel – Tan Son Nhat airport had been suffering from consistent congestion at immigration, baggage claim, and taxi pick-up areas. Thus, JCCH was leading the preparation of a proposal letter on operational improvements for Tan Son Nhat airport via solutions like separate immigration counters for locals and foreigners and enhancing the functionality of auto-gates, among others. The proposal aims to contribute to optimising travels for both local people and foreign expats, which in turn will make Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam even more inviting business destinations.
KoCham studies VAT refunds
Last but not least, KoCham shared updates on the preparation of a letter to authorities on VAT Refunds. The letter will be completed in March and will be shared with AmCham, JCCH, and EuroCham for mutual updates on advocacy.
KoCham will host the next inter-chamber meeting scheduled in May. The chambers remain committed to joint advocacy and collaboration, driving sustainable growth and a stronger business ecosystem in Vietnam.
