On July 5 in Ho Chi Minh City and July 7 in Hanoi, the EuroCham Medical Devices and Diagnostics Sector Committee (MDDSC) commenced a training workshop on the Code of Ethical Conduct for Interactions with Healthcare Professionals in the Medical Devices Industry. This event brought together key stakeholders from the healthcare sector after a prolonged period of pandemic-induced disruptions.
The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to engage in face-to-face discussions and exchange knowledge on best practices in compliance with local regulations and the industry’s ethical code. In light of the Vietnam government’s anti-corruption campaign launched in 2021, this workshop aimed to reinforce the importance of ethical conduct in the medical devices sector, fostering transparency and equal business opportunities for all.

“After enduring the challenges posed by the pandemic, our ability to gather here today, in person, is truly gratifying,” remarked Dr. Qadeer Raza, Chairman of the MDDSC. “I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all the attendees who have taken the time to join us for this Training Workshop.”
The Code of Ethical Conduct, released by the EuroCham MDDSC in October 2019, specifically focuses on the interaction between industry professionals and healthcare professionals in Vietnam. This code applies to all stakeholders within the medical devices industry, including member companies, business partners, distributors, and suppliers.
While the Code of Ethical Conduct has been effectively communicated to all key stakeholders over the years, the workshop presented an opportunity to reiterate its provisions to distributors. Attendees were encouraged to share their experiences, good practices, and any challenges they encountered while conducting business, creating a platform for interactive learning and knowledge-sharing.

“We are committed to promoting ethical business practices and compliance within the medical devices industry,” stated Dr. Qadeer Raza. “By adhering to the Code of Ethical Conduct, companies not only mitigate risks but also foster transparency, ultimately enabling equal business opportunities for all.”
The EuroCham MDDSC extends its gratitude to all participants and hopes that the Training Workshop will contribute to their professional growth and provide them with valuable insights and perspectives. The event marks an important step toward promoting ethical business practices and enhancing the overall integrity of the medical devices industry in Vietnam.
