Private Luncheon: “Southeast Asia’s Green Economy 2024: Moving the Needle”

On 2 October 2024, EuroCham, in collaboration with Bain & Company and Standard Chartered, hosted an exclusive luncheon titled “Southeast Asia’s Green Economy 2024: Moving the Needle” at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. The event gathered 70 high-level attendees, including prominent executives from national and international companies. It was honoured by the presence of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long.

The luncheon began with a welcome speech by Mr. Andrea Campagnoli, Founding Partner of Bain Vietnam, followed by an opening remark from Mr. Alain Cany, Senior Advisor at Bain & Company and EuroCham Advisory Board Chairman. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long then delivered an insightful keynote, stressing the need for green transformation and collaborative efforts between government, the private sector, and relevant stakeholders.

Key findings from the Southeast Asia’s Green Economy Report 2024 were shared by Mr. Dale Hardcastle, Global Head of Carbon Markets and Co-Director of Bain’s Global Sustainability Innovation Center, highlighting Vietnam’s opportunities in green investment.

After the networking session, a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Campagnoli featured notable figures, including Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh (CEO, Standard Chartered Vietnam), Mr. Stuart Livesey (CEO, CIP Vietnam and EuroCham Board Member), Mr. Tran Trong Kien (Group CEO, TMG), and Mr. Hardcastle. The session covered public-private cooperation and the essential support required for businesses to advance the green economy. The event concluded with a closing remark from Mr. Campagnoli, thanking the speakers and attendees.
