The European Parliament’s IMCO Delegation meets EuroCham Vietnam 

EuroCham Vietnam welcomed a high-level delegation from the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) Committee last Thursday, led by Ms. Anna Cavazzini, Chair of IMCO, together with representatives from the EU Delegation to Vietnam. The discussion focused on strengthening EU–Vietnam cooperation in sustainable trade, digital transformation, and green growth

Opening the session, EuroCham Vice-Chair Jean-Jacques Bouflet underlined Vietnam’s strong commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, its growing role in global supply chains, and the need to align regulatory frameworks to foster competitiveness and sustainability. 

Sector Committee Co-Chairs presented EuroCham’s key advocacy priorities. 

  • Agriculture: FAABS Co-Chairs Paul-Antoine Croize and Emily Thuy Nguyen highlighted Vietnam’s progress in developing greener, higher-quality agricultural value chains and called for EU support to meet EUDR requirements, address antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and advance sustainable farming practices. 
  • Digital: DSC Co-Chair Bruno Sivanandan outlined Vietnam’s efforts to build a modern digital policy framework and explored opportunities for cooperation on data protection, cybersecurity, and consumer rights, drawing from the EU’s experience with the GDPR, DMA, and AI Act
     
  • Green Growth (GGSC): GGSC Co-Chair Jonathan Sourintha emphasised Vietnam’s growing engagement in the circular economy and environmental legislation inspired by EU standards, noting the leadership of European companies in renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable manufacturing.
