On 14 June 2018, the EuroCham Executive Committee has voted in favour of accepting the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Portugal Vietnam (CCIPV) as a EuroCham affiliated Business Association.
With this step, CCIPV joins a strong group of European business associations working in cooperation with EuroCham to build a stronger voice for the European business community in the country and to promote its potential in Europe. Members of these BAs automatically become members of EuroCham, while the Chamber also works closely with them to align on several events, communication and most importantly, advocacy action.
From today onwards, members of CCIPV will automatically become EuroCham members.

EuroCham has worked with different BAs since 2003 and the main purpose of the framework of affiliation was to create a structure whereby organisations could cooperate and act together under one voice, while preserving their autonomy, national identity and ties to their national community in Vietnam. The BA affiliation practice in EuroCham is not a common setup, but it is indeed one that has brought strong dynamics between European communities based in the country.
WIth CCIPV joining the group, there are now 9 affiliated BAs. This is a number EuroCham is very proud of and which further reinforces EuroCham's vision: to be the Voice of European Business in Vietnam.
The CCIPV was founded in October 2017 by two Portuguese and Vietnamese nationals, and is legally established under Portuguese Law. It is an independent, non-profit organization aiming to support enterprises interested in trade and investment between Portugal and Vietnam. CCIPV's mission is marked by the overall promotion of commercial ties between the two sides. CCIPV is in the process of registering in Vietnam. While currently in an exercise of gathering sizable membership, CCIPV has intiated its licensing process in under the Decree No. 8/1998/ND-CP of 22 January, Promulgating the Regulation on the Establishment of Associations of Foreign Business in Vietnam. It currently operates a staffed office in Lisbon, with representatives supporting the Chamber's action on the ground in Vietnam.
The Chamber is financed solely by membership subscriptions and other revenue generated through the Chamber's activitiess, including events and business support services. In its less than one year of existence, CCIPV has already established important links with likeminded organisations and other public entities with which it has cooperated.
