On 27 September, EuroCham’s Transportation and Logistics Sector Committee (TLSC) held a courtesy meeting with the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs Department.
The EuroCham delegation was led by TLSC Vice-Chairman and Treasurer Benoit Klein and EuroCham Advocacy Manager Diep Truong. They were welcomed by Nguyen Thanh Sang, Deputy Director of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs.
The meeting enabled TLSC to share its visions and advocacy focuses for future collaboration with the customs authority. Main discussion areas included:
- Infrastructure investment facilitation to strengthen port connectivity
- Support for customs digitalization and trade-enabling regulations
- Sustainable development through energy efficiency and emission reductions
- Potential future initiatives like training sessions, dialogues and site visits
TLSC’s proposals were highly appreciated by Ba Ria-Vung Tau Customs, who have been investing in upgrades ranging from screening technology to business facilitation procedures. With ambitions to further develop the province, the customs authority welcomed TLSC’s perspectives.
As a bridge between European business and Vietnam, EuroCham and its TLSC engage with authorities to share expertise that strengthens trade infrastructure, customs processes and sustainable transportation. Collaborations like this exemplify joint efforts to enable Vietnam’s continued economic growth.
