EuroCham’s Tourism & Hospitality Sector Committee attends the announcement ceremony of Binh Thuan Province’s Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050

On 28 February, a ceremony took place, marking the announcement of Binh Thuan Province’s Master Plan for the period 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050. The event was attended by Chairman of the EuroCham Tourism & Hospitality Sector Committee (THSC), Mario Mendis, and Vice-Chairman of the German Business Association (GBA), also a member of THSC, Martin Koerner. The government was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Chairman of the Binh Thuan Provincial People’s Committee Doan Anh Dung, Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Duong Van An, among other central and local authorities.

The Master Plan is aimed at steering Binh Thuan towards sustainable growth, focusing on green development and minimizing waste. It lays out a comprehensive strategy across three pillars: industry, services, and agriculture. This includes fostering clean and renewable energy sectors, promoting high-tech industrial clusters, and advancing ecological farming practices. In the services sector, the plan seeks to enhance tourism, healthcare, entertainment, and marine sports, contributing to the overall economic diversification of the province.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized Binh Thuan’s strategic location along the north-south economic corridor, connecting vital regions across the country. This geographic and geo-strategic positioning is seen as a key advantage in the era of global integration, with a special focus on maritime development and the global shift towards a greener economy.

The Deputy Prime Minister also underscored the importance of developing innovative tourism products that capitalize on the province’s rich maritime and island resources. This approach aims to offer unique experiences in exploration, sports, health care, and entertainment services.

Mr. Mendis and Mr. Koerner lauded Binh Thuan’s efforts to foster an inviting environment for investors, highlighting the province’s significant potential in the tourism sector as a golden opportunity for European investment.

Further emphasizing the commitment to mutual growth and development, there is an active collaboration between the THSC and Binh Thuan’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. This partnership is on the verge of formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding, which will focus on enhancing Binh Thuan’s tourism offerings and solidifying its status as a premier destination for European airlines, restaurants, and travel agencies, both domestically and abroad. This ongoing cooperation underscores the shared vision and effort to leverage Binh Thuan’s strategic advantages for broader economic and cultural enrichment.
