The EuroCham Green Growth Sector Committee: leading the way to a greener and more prosperous Vietnam

EuroCham has long been at the forefront of promoting sustainable and responsible business practices in Vietnam. A shining beacon of this commitment is the EuroCham Green Growth Sector Committee (GGSC), an entity established in May 2014. Designed with a clear purpose in mind, the GGSC diligently works towards integrating green initiatives into the fabric of Vietnam’s business landscape.

The underlying philosophy of GGSC revolves around the synergy of two vital concepts – ‘green’ and ‘growth’. For EuroCham and the GGSC, sustainability is not just a catchphrase but an intrinsic part of the strategy, geared towards making Vietnam not just prosperous but also more livable.

Collaboration sits at the core of GGSC’s operations. With a hands-on approach, the committee engages actively with a spectrum of stakeholders. This includes the government of Vietnam and its numerous agencies, the corporate ecosystem of both Vietnamese and European entities, and other key players who share the common vision of a greener tomorrow.

Understanding the need to stay updated in an ever-evolving domain, the GGSC has introduced bi-weekly press cuts. This compilation, while not exhaustive, presents a curated selection from the media. It offers updates on regulations, insights into the macro operating environment, and highlights of events. The five working groups of GGSC determine the publication’s thematic focus, which currently includes:

• Renewable energy & energy efficiency
• Circular economy
• Sustainable cities & buildings
• Water
• Sustainable finance
