Sector Committee
We support Vietnam’s long-lasting digital development by addressing topics related to European businesses operating in Vietnam:
– Work to achieve compatibility between regulations of the data economy between Europe and Vietnam
– Facilitate the movement of data across borders in compliance with Vietnamese law and the adoption of internationally recognised technology security standards
– Pursue clarity and coherence in the growing number of texts regulating the usage of digital technology
– Implement platforms and tools towards traceability, the origin of goods, and transparency

On 2nd April, EuroCham and Digital SC sent out a letter to Mr. Thierry Breton – European Commissioner for Internal Market, regarding the strategic engagement of Europe with Vietnam in the semiconductor industry.
On 26-28 June, Co-Chair, Pavel Poskakukhin, represented the Digital Sector Committee (DSC) in the EU-ABC Mission Trip. Pavel attended high-level meetings with key governmental bodies, including the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). In these meetings, he emphasized the EU’s strong interest in investing in Vietnam’s burgeoning semiconductor industry.
On 2-3 July, Co-Chair Bruno Sivanandan represented Digital SC at EuroCham Brussels Mission Trip 2024. We had a productive series of meetings with various EU Commissions, including DG INTPA (Directorate-General for International Partnerships), DG CONNECT (Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology), and the Vietnam Ambassador to the EU, H.E. Nguyen Van Thao.
